Grutas Tolantongo
Bring your own snacks and drinks! The food at the park is decent, but the prices are a bit steep – plus, you'll save time skipping the lines.
To get the most out of your visit, I suggest hiking the trails before diving into the hot springs – the views are breathtaking and worth the effort!
While the cable cars are a fun ride, the hike back down is just as cool. I think it’s a hidden gem, and you get to enjoy the scenery at your own pace.
Cascadas de Agua Azul
Don't forget your camera! The views are breathtaking, and you’ll want to capture that turquoise water. But be aware of your gear around the water – I saw some people wading a little too close and almost lost their phones.
My advice is to wear water shoes. Flip-flops may not cut it. The rocks can be pretty slippery and you'll want good grip while you're exploring.
I highly recommend hitting the trail by 8 AM to beat the crowds and really soak in the beauty. It gets super packed around 10, and you'll want some space for those Insta shots.
Waterfall Agua Asul
Chapala Lake
I recommend checking the weather before your visit. It can get real hot in the afternoon, so bring a hat and sunscreen to stay comfy!
My advice is to try the local seafood at the lakeside restaurants. They're tasty and won't break the bank like some tourist traps do
I think walking along the malecon is a must, but wear comfortable shoes! Some parts can be a bit rocky and tricky to navigate.
Sumidero Canyon
Lago Pojoj
El Arcotete Ecotourism Park
don’t miss the sunset view from the lookout point around 5:30 pm. trust me, it's breathtaking. i was there for an hour just soaking it all in. take your camera.
Try to visit on a weekday if you can. I went on a Saturday and it was packed! The trails were crowded, which made it hard to enjoy the peaceful vibes of nature. Weekdays are much calmer.
Montes Azules Biosphere Reserve
I suggest bringing cash, as some entrance fees are not accepted with cards. It saved me a bit of hassle when I realized the ATM was miles away
My advice is to pack snacks and water. Places to eat can be far apart, and I regretted not being prepared when I got super hungry during my hike.
Tacana
Orquideas Moxviquil: Botanical Garden
My advice is to bring cash. Some of the activities and parts of the garden may not accept cards, and I ended up scrambling for ATM cash
