The Museum of Mummies
Mummy Museum

If you plan on taking a lot of pictures, be ready to pay a small fee for your camera. I didn't know this at first and almost lost the chance to capture some great shots!

I suggest getting there right when they open at 9 AM. It was so much less crowded and I could take my time looking at everything, plus good lighting for photos!

I recommend wearing comfy shoes since you'll be walking through narrow halls. Trust me, I was regretting my flip-flops by the end!

You might want to bring some snacks. There's not much of a cafe, and I found myself getting hungry after a while. Grab something before you go!
Regional Museum of Guanajuato Alhondiga de Granaditas
Diego Rivera House Museum

I suggest downloading an audio guide app before you go. It's super informative and you'll save on guide fees. I wish I'd done it because the in-person tours were crowded!

If you're interested in art, make sure to attend any temporary exhibits they may have on display. I came across one by chance and it added so much to my visit
Ex Hacienda San Gabriel de Barrera Museum

I think it's worth spending some time in the gift shop. They have unique souvenirs, but check prices online first. Some items are a bit pricey, so you might save some cash.

My advice is to grab a snack before you visit. The museum doesn't have many options and you might get hungry walking around that beautiful garden.
Don Quixote Iconographic Museum
The Corner Museum of Mexican Popular Toy

If you're really into the art of these toys grab the audio guide for a few extra pesos. It adds so much context to the exhibitions and helps you appreciate the craftsmanship like I did.

I suggest checking the opening hours before you go. I found out they close for lunch between 1-2 PM, which cut my visit short. Planning around that can really help you enjoy more time there!

I think they have a small gift shop at the end with cool toys and souvenirs. My advice is to bring some extra cash; they don't take credit cards. You don't wanna miss out on those unique finds!
House of Wailing
Tia Aura's House
Historic Museum of San Miguel de Allende

My advice is to ask about any special discounts – I saved a bit by showing my student ID. It never hurts to ask!

i recommend visiting the museum right when it opens at 10 am to avoid the crowds. i went around noon and it got super busy, making it hard to enjoy everything
