Tulum National Park

Don't forget your sunscreen! I thought I was good, but ended up roasted. Apply generously and reapply often, especially at the beach spots.

I recommend hitting the park right when it opens at 8 AM. The crowds are way less, and you can enjoy the views without all the selfies blocking your way!

I think you should wear comfy shoes. There’s a lot of walking and some uneven paths, so don’t ruin your day with blisters!
I suggest checking out the lesser-known ruins first before the main ones. They’re just as beautiful but with a lot fewer people. You’ll get some amazing pics!
North Beach

Don’t forget sunscreen, but also bring a good hat. The sun can be intense, especially in the afternoon. I got a bit fried despite applying regularly.

Take a stroll down the beach to find quieter spots. Some areas get really busy, but just a few minutes walk can lead you to some peaceful spots perfect for relaxing.

I suggest visiting early in the morning or around 5 PM for stunning sunsets. The beach is much less crowded, and the views are just breathtaking!

Look out for local vendors selling fresh coconut water. It’s super refreshing and much cheaper than the drinks on the beach. Bonus – you can ask them to chop it open for you!
Lobster Beach

Check out the local vendors for fresh ceviche instead of the restaurant food. I tried some and it was delish and way cheaper!

Don't forget to bring your own water and snacks! I was shocked at how pricey the beachside amenities were; totally worth saving some cash.

I recommend hitting the beach early, around 8 AM before the crowds show up. You get the best spot and can enjoy the sunrise too!

My advice is to wander around the area a bit. The nearby shops have some unique souvenirs that aren't sold in the tourist traps nearby.
Cenote Azul

Don't forget your snorkel gear! The underwater views are absolutely amazing, and with the right gear, you can see so much more than just swimming around.

Wear water shoes! The rocks can be super slippery and I almost fell a couple of times. Trust me, just get some.

Bring your own snacks and drinks! The food at the café is a bit pricey. I spent way more than I expected for just a sandwich and a drink

Plan your visit for a weekday if you can. The weekends can get really busy and you’ll have a better experience with less people around.
Marlin Beach
I think using the bus to get there is a smart move. It's super cheap, like only a couple of bucks, and it’ll save you money compared to taxis. Plus, you get a taste of local life!

If you want to rent beach chairs, don’t forget to negotiate. Some places add extra fees, but a little haggling can save you a nice chunk of change. I wish I had known that earlier.

My advice is to arrive by 8 AM to snag a good spot... The beach fills up fast, so if you want a nice view without the crowds, early bird definitely gets the worm!
Cenote Dos Ojos
Chac Mool Beach

The sunset views are stunning, so stick around until about 6 PM; it's worth the wait for some amazing photos.
Watch out for the seaweed! Check local updates as it can be a bit of a nuisance, but you can usually find clearer spots.

If you're looking to save money, bring your own snacks and drinks. The beach vendors can be pricey.
For some great local food, head to a nearby taco stand after your beach day—better prices and tastier than the touristy spots around
Grand Cenote

Bring your own snorkel gear if you have it! Rental can be pricey, and the rental gear isn’t always the best quality.

Get there right when they open at 9 AM. You’ll beat the crowds and have more time to enjoy the stunning views without feeling rushed.

Plan for at least two hours to fully enjoy swimming, exploring, and taking photos... I thought I could rush in and out but ended up wishing I had more time!

Don't forget water shoes! The rocky areas can be tough on bare feet, and trust me, you'll want comfortable footwear.
Xcalacoco Beach

I suggest wearing water shoes. The sand is beautiful but there are some rocky areas in the water that can hurt your feet, trust me I learned the hard way!

I think checking out the seaweed reports before you head out can save you some disappointment. I visited when it was heavy and it definitely took away from the gorgeous views!

If you’re thinking about renting a spot with a beach bed, haggle a bit! I was quoted 300 pesos at first but got it down to 200 after a friendly chat. Don’t shy away from negotiating!

My advice is to go around 7 am. The sunrise is stunning and it's way less crowded then. You'll get those perfect beach pics without strangers photobombing you!
Fundadores Park

I suggest wearing comfy shoes. You’ll likely be walking a lot, and some areas can be a bit uneven.

Watch out for the vendors—it can get a bit overwhelming. Just be polite if you’re not interested; a simple 'no, gracias' works wonders!

Try visiting right before sunset. The views are breathtaking and you’ll capture some amazing photos with fewer crowds around!

Check the schedule for free events like live music or performances. I stumbled upon a fantastic dance show, and it felt like a bonus to my day!
