If you're planning to visit on a weekend, aim to get there around 10 PM. The vibe really kicks up then, and you'll find the crowd is much livelier. I made that mistake of arriving too early and it felt a bit dull.
For a more laid-back vibe, swing by around 8 PM... It's much quieter then, and you can scope out some local talent before it gets packed later in the night
