Zambezi
I suggest trying the local food at small roadside stalls. It's cheaper and way tastier than the fancy restaurants! I had the best grilled fish for a fraction of the price.
Make sure to pack bug spray! The mosquitoes can be intense, especially at dusk. I got bitten way more than I’d like to admit
I recommend bringing cash, there's not many ATMs around, and some places won't take cards. I ended up scrambling for funds at one point.
Tunduru Botanical Gardens
Tofo Beach
I suggest you hit the beach in the morning around 7 AM. The sun is great for pics and it's way less crowded. Plus the locals are super friendly and awake making it even better!
Wimbe Beach
If you're planning to grab a bite, I'd recommend hitting the local food stalls. They're way cheaper and so much tastier than the restaurants! I think I saved a ton compared to what I would have spent at a sit-down place
Gorongosa National Park
Don't be afraid to haggle a bit on prices for safaris... I saved a good chunk by negotiating with local guides directly rather than booking through agencies... Also, I think mornings are the best time for game drives, around 6 am; lots of wildlife action then
Pack some snacks and water in your bag. The park's facilities are limited and can be pricey. My advice is to bring a jump drive with your fav music; evenings at the campsite were so much more fun with tunes playing while we relaxed.
Lake Malawi
Macaneta Beach
I suggest you grab some fresh seafood from the local vendors instead of dining at the resorts. You'll get way tastier meals for a fraction of the price. Trust me you don't wanna miss out on that grilled squid or those prawns
