Plaza Mayor

Try to visit in the early morning, around 8 AM, to enjoy the plaza with fewer crowds and to catch the beautiful morning light for photos. It’s just way more relaxed before the tourists pour in.

If you're into photography, I recommend visiting just before sunset. The warm colors really bring out the beauty of the architecture, and it's magical with the lights coming on.
Plaza San Martin
San Francisco Convent and Catacombs Museum

If you're on a budget, I suggest packing a snack. There are few good places around and food in the area can be pricey, plus you want to keep exploring!

Check out the museum right when it opens at 9 AM. I went later and the crowds were crazy, so early birds definitely get the worm here!

My advice is to join the tour that includes the catacombs. I didn't and missed out on some great stories and details that would have made it even cooler.
Huaca Pucllana Site Museum

Buy your tickets online in advance to skip the ticket line and save some time. It’s usually quicker and can help you budget better!

Don’t miss the guided tour – it’s super informative and brings the site to life. Just make sure to ask about English-speaking guides if you're not fluent in Spanish.

If you can, spend some time in the museum before heading to the pyramids – the exhibits really give you context for what you’re about to see.
I recommend visiting in the late afternoon around 4 PM – the golden hour lighting makes for better photos and the crowds start to thin out
Bridge of Sighs
Larco Museum
Museum of the Nation

Go for the audio guide if you're really into details. I didn't, and I missed out on some cool stories behind the artifacts. A small investment for a better experience!

If you’re short on cash, consider visiting on a Sunday when entrance is often free. It saved me some bucks, but be prepared for more visitors!

Check out the small café inside for a quick snack. I grabbed a sandwich and it was surprisingly tasty for a museum eatery. Plus, it gave me a nice break!

I suggest getting there right when it opens at 9 AM. The crowds can get pretty crazy later in the day, and you’ll have more time to really enjoy the exhibits without rushing.
Castillo de Chancay
Lima Art Museum

If you can, go on a Thursday or Sunday when they have free admission! It saved me a few bucks and I got to experience the same great art.

Grab a coffee at the museum café. It’s a bit pricey, but the view of the gardens is worth it for a relaxing break.

Wear comfy shoes! The museum is bigger than it looks, and you’ll want to explore every corner comfortably.
Plan your visit around lunch; the area has some great spots nearby to grab a bite after touring the museum.
