Try to catch the sunset at the beach around 6 p.m. It's stunning and there are fewer crowds. Grab a drink from one of the beach bars to enjoy it even more.

I suggest staying at a hostel or guesthouse close to the beach. It’s lively, and you'll meet other cool travelers while being just a short walk from the waves.

I recommend bringing cash as many places don't accept cards. I learned this the hard way when I wanted to grab a bite after surfing but found out the restaurant only took cash. Get some Peruvian soles at an ATM before you head out.
