Oytsovsky National Park

Check the weather before you go. I thought it’d be sunny and ended up hiking in the rain, which wasn’t too fun. A little prep can save your day!

Get there around 8 AM. The park is way quieter, and you can enjoy the trails without the crowds. I thought I’d sleep in, but I was so glad I got an early start!
Wear sturdy shoes! I wore flip-flops thinking, 'It’s just a park,' but the trails had some rough patches. Trust me, your feet will thank you later!

Download a map before you go. I didn't and ended up lost for a bit, which wasted some time. The signage isn’t always the best, so being prepared helps.
Krakow Planty

If you can, visit on a weekday morning. I went on a Saturday and it was super crowded. You'll get better photos and enjoy the greenery without all the noise.

I recommend bringing a good pair of walking shoes. The path can be uneven in some areas, and trust me, you want to be comfy while walking around!

If you're planning a picnic, grab some snacks from a nearby grocery store instead of overpriced cafes. I found a nice spot near the benches by the Wisla River. Perfect view and way cheaper!

watch out for cyclists! they zoom through the park and i nearly got run over. stay alert or stick to the grassier paths if you're walking with kids.
Henryk Jordan Park

My advice is to bring a light snack or picnic. There are plenty of benches, and it’s a great way to relax and people-watch without spending too much.

I recommend checking out the playground if you have kids with you. They had a blast and it gave me a moment to just sit and enjoy.

If you love coffee, check out the little café inside the park. I found their prices surprisingly cheap for Krakow, and the view is lovely!

I suggest visiting early in the morning around 8 am for a peaceful stroll. The park is less crowded at that time and you can enjoy the tranquility and the fresh air.
Tatra National Park

My advice is to explore the lesser-known trails! The popular ones like Morskie Oko can be super crowded. I found some hidden gems with breathtaking views and way less people.

I suggest downloading the park map before you arrive. The signs can be tricky, and having it on your phone made it soooo much easier to navigate, trust me!

Bring cash for entry fees! I was caught off guard when I realized some places inside the park don't accept cards. Always good to have some in hand, just in case.

I recommend packing extra snacks and water. The hikes can be tougher than expected, and having food on hand saved me some time from looking for shops!
