Salt Mine in Wieliczka

Bring a light jacket. It can get a bit chilly down there, even in the summer

If you're visiting during peak season, try to go around 9 AM. It's less crowded, and you can really enjoy the tranquility of the mine.
Krakow Aquapark

My advice is to pack snacks or a light lunch. The food inside is decent, but a bit pricey, and you might get hungry after all the swimming!
Lake Morskie Oko

definitely start your hike early, like around 7 am. the trail gets pretty crowded after that, and you'll want those stunning, quiet moments at the lake without too many people around.

The walk is beautiful, but don’t underestimate how long it can take. I suggest giving yourself at least 2-3 hours to get to the lake to enjoy the views without rushing

Watch out for the weather! It can change quickly in the mountains. My advice is to have a light rain jacket handy even if it looks sunny when you start.

Pack a proper lunch. We spent way too much on overpriced snacks at the nearby cafe. Bring a picnic and enjoy it by the lake instead.
Oytsovsky National Park

Check the weather before you go. I thought it’d be sunny and ended up hiking in the rain, which wasn’t too fun. A little prep can save your day!

Get there around 8 AM. The park is way quieter, and you can enjoy the trails without the crowds. I thought I’d sleep in, but I was so glad I got an early start!
Wear sturdy shoes! I wore flip-flops thinking, 'It’s just a park,' but the trails had some rough patches. Trust me, your feet will thank you later!

Download a map before you go. I didn't and ended up lost for a bit, which wasted some time. The signage isn’t always the best, so being prepared helps.
Krakow Planty

If you can, visit on a weekday morning. I went on a Saturday and it was super crowded. You'll get better photos and enjoy the greenery without all the noise.

I recommend bringing a good pair of walking shoes. The path can be uneven in some areas, and trust me, you want to be comfy while walking around!

If you're planning a picnic, grab some snacks from a nearby grocery store instead of overpriced cafes. I found a nice spot near the benches by the Wisla River. Perfect view and way cheaper!

watch out for cyclists! they zoom through the park and i nearly got run over. stay alert or stick to the grassier paths if you're walking with kids.
Krakow Zoo
Czarny Staw Gasienicowy

I suggest hitting the trails early, around 7 AM, to avoid the crowds. Trust me, the peaceful views of the lake at that time are so worth it!

Wear sturdy hiking boots! The trail can get a bit slippery, especially after rain. I learned that the hard way after a muddy mishap!

If you're on a budget, pack a picnic. The nearby snack prices can be a bit steep. Enjoying your lunch by the lake felt special and saved some cash.

I think you should definitely bring a reusable water bottle. There are places to refill, and it helps cut down on plastic waste while you stay hydrated.
Henryk Jordan Park

My advice is to bring a light snack or picnic. There are plenty of benches, and it’s a great way to relax and people-watch without spending too much.

I recommend checking out the playground if you have kids with you. They had a blast and it gave me a moment to just sit and enjoy.

If you love coffee, check out the little café inside the park. I found their prices surprisingly cheap for Krakow, and the view is lovely!

I suggest visiting early in the morning around 8 am for a peaceful stroll. The park is less crowded at that time and you can enjoy the tranquility and the fresh air.
Jagiellonian University Botanical Garden

Wear comfortable shoes! The garden is larger than it looks, and you’ll want to stroll the paths without worrying about your feet.

If you're on a budget, check out the garden on a weekday—sometimes they have reduced entry fees. It’s a nice way to save a little cash!

Start your visit around 10 AM to avoid the larger crowds; the garden's peaceful charm really shines in the morning light... Trust me, it's much more enjoyable

I recommend downloading a plant identification app before your visit—it makes the experience more interactive and fun to learn about what you see.
Mrozna Cave

My advice is to bring a camera but don’t be surprised if flash is not allowed; some spots can be really dim. I wish I had known because I missed some great shots!

I suggest visiting on a weekday instead of the weekend... The crowds were a bit overwhelming on Saturday, and I couldn't enjoy the quiet beauty of the cave as much as I wanted

If you're on a budget, consider packing snacks and water. The cafes nearby were a bit pricey and had limited options. I easily spent more than I planned!
