The Sanctuary of Fatima
I suggest bringing your own water and snacks from outside. The prices inside can be pretty high, and there are some nice places to sit and enjoy a picnic.
If you can, visit during the week instead of the weekend. The crowds can be insane on Saturdays, and you'll find it much easier to explore on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
I think taking the time to sit in the chapel and soak in the atmosphere is a must. I almost skipped it but ended up feeling really moved by the experience.
Mosteiro de Santa Maria da Vitoria
Convent of Christ
Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Alcobaca
Conimbrigue
The Old Cathedral
I suggest going in the morning around 9 AM when it opens... There were fewer people and I could really soak in the beauty of the architecture without feeling rushed
The National Museum Machado de Castro
I suggest taking your time in the cloisters and the collections on the upper floors. There's a lot to see, and it can be easy to rush through it all. Enjoy the atmosphere and the views of Coimbra!
If you can, visit on a weekday right when it opens at 10 AM. You'll beat the crowds and have a more personal experience with the amazing art.
Museum of Discovery
My advice is to check out any local eateries before or after your visit. There's a cute little cafe a short walk away where you can grab a bite without breaking the bank. Eating there made the whole day feel more local and cozy!
