Matosinhos Beach

Bring your own snacks and drinks to the beach. Prices at nearby cafes can be pretty high, especially during the peak season. I regretted spending too much on a soda when I could've brought my own!

Bring a light jacket for the evening. It gets breezy after sunset, and I didn't expect it. I was shivering while others were comfortable, so plan ahead!

If you want a quieter spot, head to the far left side of the beach. It’s less populated, so you can enjoy a more relaxed experience without all the hustle and bustle of the main area.
If you're planning to surf, try to rent a board instead of buying one. I rented from a local shop and got a great deal. Also, they throw in a quick surf lesson, which was super helpful.
Estadio do Dragao
Adega Sports Bar

Definitely try to get there around 7 PM to snag a good spot before it gets crowded. I went too late and had to stand most of the time.
I recommend checking their drink specials before you order – they often have happy hour deals that can save you some cash!

My advice is to chat with the staff; they’re friendly and can recommend some great local beers that you might not find elsewhere

If you want to play billiards, bring some friends and be ready to wait for a table during busy nights. The games are super fun, but it can get competitive!
Aviz Tea Room

If you're into billiards, bring a friend and play a game while sipping on your tea. It's a unique combination that I loved, but make sure to reserve a table if you can! They can get busy

My advice is to ask the staff for their recommendations; they know their teas really well! I went for a safe option but I think I missed out on some really cool flavors.

Check out their special tea of the week. I tried one that was a little different and it was such a nice surprise. Can save you from trying the usual stuff.

I recommend going on a weekday morning if you can. It's way less crowded, and you can really enjoy your tea without the bustle. I went on a Saturday and it was super busy!
Via Geira Roman Road

I recommend downloading a good offline map. Cell service can be spotty in some areas, and you don't want to get lost in those beautiful woods.

Make sure to wear sturdy hiking boots! The trail can be uneven and muddy in some spots. I learned the hard way when my sneakers got soaked.

Don't skip the little detours to explore Roman ruins along the road. They are fascinating and make for great photo ops!

If you're visiting with kids, consider bringing some fun hiking gear like walking sticks or binoculars to keep them engaged and active.
Leca da Palmeira Beach

There are a few great cafes along the promenade... I suggest grabbing a pastel de nata and a coffee; it’s a delicious and inexpensive breakfast before hitting the beach!
Don’t forget sunscreen! The sun can be pretty intense, even with a light breeze. I learned that the hard way on my first day – came back with a nasty burn!
Check the surf forecast before you go! I found that the waves are best in the morning, usually around 9 AM. It's less crowded and perfect for catching some early morning waves.

If you're looking to rent surf gear, I recommend hitting up one of the local shops rather than the beach rental kiosks. You’ll find better prices and a wider selection!
Cabedelo Beach

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks because beachside cafes can be pretty pricey. Save those euros!

If you're going during summer, don’t forget sunscreen! I got a bit burnt and regretted not applying enough.

I think renting a surfboard for the day is worth it; you can usually find good deals. I had a blast catching waves!

I suggest you try to arrive around 10 AM to nab a good parking spot. It gets super crowded after that!
Milicia Urbana Indoor Paintball

I suggest keeping an eye out for group discounts if you’re going with friends. We saved some cash that way, and it made the experience even better.

I recommend showing up at least 15 minutes early to check in and get your gear sorted. This way, you won’t feel rushed and can relax before the action starts.

My advice is to wear old clothes. The paint can get pretty messy, and you don’t want to ruin anything nice. Plus, it adds to the fun vibe

I think you should definitely try the challenge courses if you can. They’re a blast! Just remember, hydration is key – grab that water bottle between rounds!
Portugal Equestrian
Jumpers - Trampolim Parque - Porto

I suggest booking your tickets online in advance; it really saves time when you arrive. The lines can get super long on weekends!

Check out the daily specials and combo deals. I found a great package for jumping plus a snack that made my visit both fun and budget-friendly.
