Central Park of Culture and Rest. M.Gorkogo

If you're up for some entertainment, catch a show at the open-air theater, but check the schedule online first to avoid disappointment!

If you're planning to ride the carousel, go for it right when you arrive; it gets crowded quickly and waiting can kill your vibe!

My advice is to explore the less-trafficked paths; they have some cool art installations and quieter spots to relax, away from the crowds.
Moscow Zoo
Museon Art Park

Bring a picnic! The park has nice green spots where you can relax. I wish I had packed some snacks instead of grabbing overpriced food.

Check out the park's website for any free entry days; I found out they had one right after my visit, which would have saved me some cash.

Don't miss the rotating exhibitions they sometimes feature really cool contemporary artists. I stumbled upon one by chance and it was amazing!

Wear comfy shoes, especially if you want to explore the entire park. I regretted my choice of footwear halfway through!
Moskvarium

I recommend bringing your own snacks. The food options were pretty pricey and not that great. We spent way too much on lunch and could’ve saved cash if we’d packed a picnic

If you want some awesome souvenir photos, try to catch the jellyfish exhibit around 4 PM. The lighting is just perfect for pics, and the colors are stunning in the tanks!
I suggest hitting up the aquarium on a weekday, especially around 10 AM. It was way less crowded, and I got to see the exhibits without feeling rushed.

Make sure to check their feeding schedule online before your visit. I missed a dolphin show because I didn’t plan ahead, and my kids were super bummed about it.
Alexander Garden

If you can, visit around 10 AM. The crowds are smaller then and you can really enjoy the peace and beauty of the gardens. Plus, it's great for taking photos without too many people in the way!

There’s a cute little cafe in the park! Grab a coffee there instead of going to the more touristy spots nearby. It’s cozy and you'll save some cash!

Check out the fountains in the late afternoon when the light is perfect for photos. They look stunning and it’s a great way to unwind after a busy day exploring
Botanical Garden of Moscow State University "Apothecary Garden"
Patriarch's Ponds

Keep an eye out for street artists or performers. They pop up now and then, adding extra charm to the place. It’s a nice surprise if you happen to catch one!

If you're planning photos, the best lighting is just before sunset, around 7-8 PM. You’ll get the golden hour magic without tons of people in the backround.

Don’t rush! Take your time walking around, there are cute hidden paths and benches perfect for people-watching. I found a lovely spot just behind the main pond.
Try to visit in the morning around 9 AM it’s way quieter then and you can really soak in the vibes without the crowds messing it up. I loved just chilling by the water.
Elk Island National Park

Don’t forget your binoculars if you're into birdwatching! I saw so many cool species, but I wished I had brought mine to get a better look at them.

If you're into photography, aim to visit during golden hour (early morning or late afternoon). I captured some stunning photos that way, and it wasn’t too crowded!

Bring a picnic! There are lovely spots to sit and enjoy your food. I packed lunch, and it was a great way to relax while taking in the scenery

Check out the visitor center first! It has useful maps and info that can save you time deciding which trails to explore and the staff was super friendly.
Hermitage Garden

If you're into art, keep an eye out for any temporary exhibitions in the garden. I stumbled upon a local art fair during my visit, which was a lovely surprise!

Bring a picnic blanket or some snacks. There are plenty of spots to chill, and it saves you money versus dining at nearby restaurants.

Plan to visit during the week if you can. I went on a Saturday, and it was crowded. More space to enjoy the calm on a weekday!

Try to catch a free concert if you can! I was lucky to be there for one, and it added such a nice atmosphere to my visit.
