I suggest getting there right when it opens at 10 AM. The crowds start to pile up later, and you'll want to enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed.

Don’t skip the short film they show about dinosaurs at the beginning. I almost missed it and it really sets the stage for everything else you'll see.

If you want to avoid lines, try to visit on a weekday rather than a weekend. I found it much quieter and less hectic that way.
