Mevlana Museum
I think it's worth checking out the gift shop for unique souvenirs related to Mevlana. I found some beautiful items that aren’t available elsewhere in Turkey.
My advice is to take your time exploring the exhibits. The details are easy to miss if you rush through. I regret not spending more time by some of the beautiful artifacts.
If you're on a budget, check out nearby cafes for quick and cheap bites before or after your visit. I found a great spot just a few minutes away.
Statue of Ataturk
Check out the sunset views. I was blown away by how beautiful it looks against the statue. It was definitely a highlight of my day.
Bring some snacks and water. There are limited options nearby and you don't want to waste time searching for something to eat.
Aw man, wear comfy shoes! The area is bigger than I thought, and I ended up walking a lot. My feet were sore afterwards!
Haci Bayram Mosque
Ulujanlar Prison Museum
Make sure to take breaks outside; the gardens are peaceful and perfect for chilling before heading back inside for more exhibits!
If you can, visit on a weekday around 10 AM. The crowds are way lighter then, and you can really soak in the atmosphere without feeling rushed
I suggest wearing comfy shoes since there’s a lot of walking through the exhibits. You don’t wanna be limping around mid-visit, trust me!
Ankara History Museum
Kocatepe Mosque
Altinkoy Open Air Museum
I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. It was way less crowded when I went, and I really enjoyed taking my time with all the exhibits.
Make sure to wear comfortable shoes! The museum is pretty spread out and there's a lot of walking involved especially if you want to see everything.
My advice is to download the museum's map ahead of time. I got a bit lost at first trying to find some of the exhibits.
Bring a packed lunch! There are some picnic spots, and food inside is a bit pricey. I wished I'd eaten my own sandwich.
Goreme National Park
I think you should pack snacks and plenty of water. Food options inside the park are limited and a bit pricey
My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The terrain can be uneven, and trust me, you don’t want to ruin your day limping around.
