Bring a packed lunch and some snacks. There’s not much around for food near Malham Cove, so I thought it was smart to save some cash and enjoy a picnic with a view.

I suggest going early, around 8 AM, to beat the crowds. I went later and it felt like a highway with everyone else there. Early birds get the best photos!

I think packing a picnic lunch is a great idea. The on-site café can be a bit pricey, and there’s lovely grass to sit on while watching the gliders take off

I suggest arriving by 10 AM if you want to catch the morning briefings and enjoy a full day’s experience. The earlier you get there, the more flying time you can get under your belt!

My advice is to wear layers! The weather can change quickly up in the air, and while it’s warm on the ground, it can get chilly once you're soaring. Better to be prepared!

My advice is to check the weather forecast before you go. I went on a cloudy day and had to wait for better conditions, which could have been avoided! A clear day is so much better for flying.

If you want to dodge the crowds, try visiting around 2 PM on weekdays. It’s way quieter then and the atmosphere is more relaxed, which makes for a better experience.

I suggest checking out the food stalls before the event starts. They offer better variety and shorter queues than when the event is on. I missed a good burger because of that!

My advice is to wear good hiking boots. I didn’t, and my feet were sore by the end. The paths can get a bit slippery with mud, especially after rain.
