Ponderosa Stables
Check the weather before you go! I was not prepared for the heat and ended up wishing I had brought more water and a hat. It gets super hot out there!
My advice is to book your ride in advance. I thought I could walk in, but they were super busy. I ended up waiting almost an hour for a spot
I think you should arrive at least 30 minutes early to fill out any waivers and get familiar with the horses. Starting the experience rushed isn’t fun at all!
Cave Creek Outfitters
Don’t be shy to ask questions about the horses! The guides are super friendly and love sharing their knowledge; it makes the experience way more enriching.
If you can, go for the morning rides around 8 AM. The weather's cooler, and the light is just perfect for photos!
Pack a small backpack with water and snacks. You’ll enjoy the ride a lot more without worrying about thirst or hunger!
Navajo Bridge
I suggest hitting up the bridge around sunrise. It's way less crowded, and the views are stunning with the soft morning light! I wish I had known this before my visit.
Pecos Skatepark
If you've got your own gear, definitely bring it! Rentals can be pricey and the selection is sometimes limited. I found it way more enjoyable to skate on my own board.
I suggest hitting the park on a weekday morning, like around 9 AM. It's less crowded then, and you get more room to practice your tricks without dodging people.
