Golf in California:
Pebble Beach Golf Links
My advice is to bring layers. The weather can be really unpredictable, and I found myself wishing I had a jacket on the chilly windy spots. You never know when you’ll need it!
I highly recommend booking your tee time well in advance, especially during peak season. I tried to walk in, and it didn’t work out too well for me!
Torrey Pines Golf Courses
Coronado Municipal Golf Course
Check out the local shops nearby for some affordable golf gear before hitting the course. You'll save a bit of cash compared to the pro shop.
Spyglass Hill Golf Course
If you're up for it, I think renting a caddy is totally worth it. They know the course well and help you avoid unnecessary strokes, which I appreciated as a first-timer.
Presidio Golf Course
Make sure to arrive about 30 minutes early to warm up and practice on the driving range. It’s really nice and helped me shake off the nerves before a round!
Admiral Baker Golf Course
Maderas Golf Club
Consider bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. The on-course refreshment options can be a bit pricey.
Definitely book your tee time in advance, especially on weekends. I missed out on prime slots because I waited too long!
If you can, play early in the morning around 7 AM. The weather is cooler and the course is less crowded, making for a more enjoyable round.
