The Denver Museum of Nature & Science

Check out the museum's schedule online before your visit. They often have special events or talks happening that are totally worth attending.

I recommend arriving right when the museum opens at 9 AM. It's way less crowded, and you can explore at your own pace without feeling rushed.

If you're planning to check out the IMAX film, buy your tickets online ahead of time. They can sell out quickly, especially on weekends.

My advice is to wear comfy shoes! You'll be surprised how much walking you'll do, especially with all the cool exhibits to see.
Denver Museum of Art

Definitely check out the gift shop; I found some unique items that were reasonably priced compared to other museum shops. Don’t skip it!

My advice is to grab a map at the entrance; it really helps you navigate and find the exhibits you wanna see instead of wandering aimlessly.

I recommend visiting on a Thursday evening when they have free admissions, so you can save those bucks for souvenirs!
Larimer Square

If you're a coffee lover like me, stop by one of the local cafes, but I'd advise going early in the morning when they have fresh pastries—so worth it!

You might want to check for street festivals or events happening when you visit. I missed out on one by a week, and it sounded really fun with live music and local vendors

I think taking a quick detour down the side streets leads to some hidden gems. I stumbled upon a cute gallery that wasn’t mentioned in the major guidebooks.
International Church of Cannabis

If you're not into cannabis, don't worry! There's no pressure to partake; just enjoy the art and the vibe. I was a little nervous about this at first, but it was chill.

Check out the calendar for special events before you go! I missed a live performance that sounded amazing because I didn’t plan ahead. So bummed!

My advice is to grab some snacks before you arrive. There’s no food available onsite, and I got kind of hungry looking around all that interesting stuff.
Make sure to set aside at least 1-2 hours for your visit. I thought it would be quick, but I ended up getting captivated by all the little details.
National Western Stock Show

My advice is to save money on food by packing your own snacks. The prices for drinks and meals can really add up and there are plenty of places to sit and eat if you need a break.

I think it's smart to arrive early, like around 8 AM. You’ll beat the crowds and actually get a good spot for the rodeo events later in the day. Plus, you can snag breakfast before the fun begins!
Anderson Ranch Arts Center

Check out their schedule for workshops or lectures before your visit! I stumbled upon a fantastic sculpture demo that I would have missed otherwise.

Wear comfy shoes! The studios can get a bit spread out, and you'll want to explore every corner of this amazing art space

Bring a notebook or sketchpad if you're into art. I found inspiration everywhere and wished I’d had something to jot down my ideas.
Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

My advice is to bring a water bottle. They let you fill it up inside and the cafe can be a bit pricey! Helps you save some bucks for the cool souvenirs.

if you're into aviation history, don't miss the volunteer-led talks. i stumbled upon one and it was super informative! just be sure to check the schedule when you arrive.
Bishop Castle

I think you should bring a picnic and snacks. There aren't many places nearby to buy food, and it's nice to take a break outside with a view of the castle after exploring. Saves you money too!

I suggest checking out any local events that may be happening nearby! I missed a cool craft fair during my visit, and it would have added a lot to the trip. Always worth looking ahead!

I recommend getting there around 9 am to beat the crowds. It makes for a quieter experience, especially when you want to take photos without tons of tourists in the background. Plus, the morning light is perfect for pictures!

My advice is to wear sturdy shoes! You’ll be climbing quite a bit, and flip-flops just won’t cut it. I learned the hard way when my sandals broke halfway up the steps!
John Denver Sanctuary

My advice is to bring a picnic! There are some beautiful spots to chill and enjoy snacks, and it saves you money from eating out in town.

I think it’s worth spending some time reading about John Denver’s life and music before you go. It really adds a deeper meaning to the whole experience, trust me!
Vail Interfaith Chapel

Parking can be a pain, so I recommend arriving a little before noon... I found a spot easily, but later heard people struggling to find anywhere close... Plus, that gives you a chance to grab coffee nearby!

Bring a light jacket even in summer; it can get chilly inside. I was a little cold during my visit and ended up leaving early because I was uncomfortable. I think I’d have enjoyed it more if I’d prepared better!
Check the chapel's schedule for services or events before you go. I showed up on a Sunday morning and found it crowded with a service going on, which was a little overwhelming. Also, it was tough for me to get good photos during that time
