Krog Street Market
Try to sample a few things from different food vendors. I thought I would just eat one thing but ended up loving a variety of flavors!
Savannah Historic District
If you're looking to save some cash, try eating at the food trucks around Forsyth Park. They're affordable and offer great local flavors. Avoid the touristy restaurants in the area, as they're usually pricier and not as good.
The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist
My advice is to pack a snack if you plan to stay a while. There’s not much around for food right at the Cathedral, and you'll want to enjoy the tranquility without worrying about hunger.
I think visiting early in the morning around 9 AM is the way to go. The light streaming through the stained glass is just magical, and there are fewer people, so you can really soak it all in.
If you're driving, be aware that parking can be a pain. I recommend checking for nearby lots or using a rideshare option so you can skip the hassle. Save time for enjoying the place instead!
Birth Home of Martin Luther King
I recommend checking out the exhibits before heading into the birth home itself. It gives you great context that really enhances the whole experience.
My advice is to wear comfy shoes! The ground can be uneven and you'll want to be ready to wander around and explore all the nooks and crannies
Chippewa Square
Don’t forget your camera! The square is super photogenic with those old trees and classic architecture. I missed some great shots because I didn’t plan for it.
My advice is to bring a snack. There are benches to sit on, and it’s nice to relax with a little bite while soaking in the architecture and history. I wish I'd had a drink with me.
I think visiting Chippewa Square in the morning around 9 AM is the best. Fewer crowds and you can enjoy the serenity before the tourists swarm in. Plus, the lighting for photos is awesome!
I suggest taking your time to read the historical plaques around the square; they really add depth to the experience. I skipped them and regret not learning more about the area.
BAPS Shray Suominarayan
I recommend checking their event calendar before going. I found out too late that there was a cool cultural festival the day after I visited. Plan ahead to catch all the good stuff!
Netherworld Haunted House
I suggest going around 8 PM if you want the full spooky experience with all the lights and sounds at their peak. Plus, it gets darker earlier during fall, which adds to the vibe!
I think visiting on a weekday is the way to go. It was way less crowded for me, and I actually got to take my time enjoying the scares without feeling rushed
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes! You do a lot of walking and jumping around, and trust me, your feet will thank you after all those creepy sections.
BabyLand General Hospital
Check out the gift shop after you tour. I found some unique baby-themed souvenirs that were way cheaper than similar stuff in town.
CNN Center
I recommend checking out the food court there. I snagged some great local bites for lunch instead of expensive tourist traps nearby. Save your cash and eat like a local!
Jackson Street Bridge
Don't forget your camera! Trust me, the views of the Atlanta skyline are amazing and you'll want to capture every moment. I was bummed I didn't get better shots!
I think it's a good idea to bring some snacks and water. There aren't many places to grab a bite nearby, so having your own stuff can save you time and you’ll avoid hunger pangs!
I recommend visiting the Jackson Street Bridge early in the morning, like around 7 AM. The sunrise there is stunning and you’ll avoid the crowds. Plus, the lighting is perfect for photos.
