Ala Moana Center

I recommend checking out the local boutiques instead of the big names. They had unique stuff and better prices. Plus, it helps you support local artists.

Make sure to take a stroll around the outdoor deck. The ocean views are stunning, especially around sunset! Perfect for a quick break from shopping.

If you wanna avoid the crowds, try to arrive right when the stores open, around 9:30AM. I went at noon once and it was crazy busy!

Look for the happy hour specials if you're planning to grab a bite! I found some awesome deals at the restaurants around 3-5PM.
Battleship Arizona Memorial

Wear sunscreen and a hat; the sun can be brutal out there. I learned that the hard way on my visit!

I suggest setting aside a good 2-3 hours. There’s more to see than just the memorial itself, and you won’t want to rush it

If you can, aim for a visit around 8 AM. The early morning light is stunning for photos, and it’s less crowded!

check out the visitor center before heading to the memorial. the exhibits are worth your time and provide great context!
USS Missouri

I suggest bringing some snacks and water. The food options are kinda pricey on-site, and having your own stuff can save you a few bucks.

If you’re into photography try to visit right after the opening at 9 AM for the best natural light. The ship looks stunning in the early rays.
Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail

If you're into photography, bring a zoom lens. The scenery is stunning, and you'll want to snap some close-up shots of the lighthouse and ocean. But be aware of the glare on sunny days.

Don't forget to wear some good shoes! I wore flip-flops and regretted it halfway up. Sturdy sneakers will make the walk much easier and more comfortable.

I recommend bringing snacks and water. There’re no shops or anything at the top, so pack a little picnic to enjoy while taking in the view. Trust me, it's worth it!
Pearl Harbor

My advice is to book your tickets online ahead of time to save some cash. I didn't do that and ended up waiting in line for ages, then paying full price. Total bummer!

I recommend you go early, like around 7:30 AM. The crowds can get nasty later, and you'll get better pics without all the people in them! Plus, the morning light is just beautiful for photos.
Aloha

I suggest checking out the different architectural styles in the area, especially the historic buildings. You can appreciate them better in the early morning light, around 8 AM, when it's cooler and less crowded. It really makes a difference for photos too!

My advice is to grab a quick bite at a local food truck before heading to visit the main sites. I found some really tasty spots that saved me money compared to touristy restaurants. Plus, you'll get a real taste of the local vibe.
