Ala Moana Center

Make sure to take a stroll around the outdoor deck. The ocean views are stunning, especially around sunset! Perfect for a quick break from shopping.

If you wanna avoid the crowds, try to arrive right when the stores open, around 9:30AM. I went at noon once and it was crazy busy!

Look for the happy hour specials if you're planning to grab a bite! I found some awesome deals at the restaurants around 3-5PM.

Don't miss the art and design elements scattered around the center. Some of the sculptures were super cool, and they make for great photo ops!
Battleship Arizona Memorial

Wear sunscreen and a hat; the sun can be brutal out there. I learned that the hard way on my visit!

I suggest setting aside a good 2-3 hours. There’s more to see than just the memorial itself, and you won’t want to rush it

If you can, aim for a visit around 8 AM. The early morning light is stunning for photos, and it’s less crowded!

check out the visitor center before heading to the memorial. the exhibits are worth your time and provide great context!
USS Missouri

I suggest bringing some snacks and water. The food options are kinda pricey on-site, and having your own stuff can save you a few bucks.

If you’re into photography try to visit right after the opening at 9 AM for the best natural light. The ship looks stunning in the early rays.
Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail

If you're into photography, bring a zoom lens. The scenery is stunning, and you'll want to snap some close-up shots of the lighthouse and ocean. But be aware of the glare on sunny days.

Don't forget to wear some good shoes! I wore flip-flops and regretted it halfway up. Sturdy sneakers will make the walk much easier and more comfortable.

I recommend bringing snacks and water. There’re no shops or anything at the top, so pack a little picnic to enjoy while taking in the view. Trust me, it's worth it!
Duke Kahanamoku Statue

My advice is to check the local events before you go. When I visited, there was a surfing competition happening that added to the overall experience, and it was free!

I think you should bring a small picnic to enjoy by the statue. There’s a lovely beach area nearby where you can sit and relax after taking photos.

I suggest wearing sunscreen and a hat, even if it’s cloudy. I unfortunately got a bit sunburned because I didn’t expect the UV to be so strong, even on a gray day!
Iolani Castle

One thing I wish I’d known is to bring a water bottle. The castle grounds are lovely to walk around, but it can get hot and you’ll want to stay hydrated!

My advice is to book your tickets online. I saved a few bucks that way and skipped the long line at the entrance. Super handy!

I suggest taking the audio tour instead of a guided one. It gives you more flexibility, and I learned so much on my own pace without feeling rushed!
Bishop Museum

My advice is to grab your tickets online before you go... They have some cool combo tickets that can save you a few bucks if you're visiting other places too

I suggest planning your visit on a weekday if you can; it gets way less crowded, especially around 10 am. You’ll have the exhibits all to yourself.

i think you should take advantage of the picnic area outside. you can save money on lunch and enjoy the nice weather; just bring your own food, because the café is kinda pricey
King Kamehameha Statue

I suggest visiting early in the morning, around 8 AM, to avoid crowds and get some great photos without people in the background.
Check out the local farmers' market nearby on Wednesdays or Saturdays for amazing snacks and souvenirs, I really enjoyed it!

I think spending some time chatting with locals can enhance your experience; they often have interesting stories and tips about the area that you won’t find in the guidebooks.
Honolulu Art Museum

I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. It tends to be less crowded, and you can really take your time with the exhibits. I enjoyed it so much more when I didn’t feel rushed.

Check out the free admission days. I stumbled upon one during my visit, which totally saved me some cash and still let me enjoy all the art.
If you're into photography, grab your camera! Some areas of the museum have stunning lighting and great backdrops, perfect for capturing memories

Don't skip the café on site. I had a light lunch there, and the prices were pretty reasonable, plus it was nice to relax before diving back into more art!
Pearl Harbor

My advice is to book your tickets online ahead of time to save some cash. I didn't do that and ended up waiting in line for ages, then paying full price. Total bummer!

I recommend you go early, like around 7:30 AM. The crowds can get nasty later, and you'll get better pics without all the people in them! Plus, the morning light is just beautiful for photos.
