City Park
If you're into jogging or biking, I suggest hitting the paths early in the morning around 7 AM. The fresh air is lovely and the park is quiet.
Okay, so I totally underestimated how hot it gets. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle; the Sun can be relentless, even in early fall!
I recommend visiting the park on a weekday; it was way less crowded and I could really enjoy the tranquil vibes. Weekends can be nutty!
Check out the Carousel Gardens Amusement Park if you’re with kids. They had a blast, and I think it was worth the entry fee. Just budget for snacks!
Adventure Quest Laser Tag
I recommend booking your session online in advance. It saves time waiting in line, especially on weekends when it's super busy
I think bringing your own water and snacks is a good idea. The place has a strict no food policy, and you'll get thirsty running around.
Pontchartrain Park
I think you shoud pack some snacks and drinks before you visit. The park is awesome, but the nearby food options can be a bit pricey. Having your own treats saved me some cash and made the day better.
Palmer Park
I recommend checking out the local artists' market on Saturdays; it's a great way to support local creators and grab unique souvenirs without breaking the bank. Plus, the vibe is super friendly!
The Mortuary Haunted House
I suggest buying your tickets online ahead of time to skip the long lines; the wait can get pretty crazy, especially around Halloween. Going at 7 PM on a weekday worked out well for me – it was less crowded and way more fun.
I recommend checking out the themed rooms beforehand so you can decide which ones to focus on. Some really capture the spooky vibe better than others, and you want to get the full experience without missing out!
