If you're looking to practice dancing a bit before your class I think arriving around 15 minutes early is a great idea! You can warm up and get into the groove.

I think arriving around 5 PM helps avoid the crowds. The earlier classes are more relaxed, giving you more personal attention from the instructors.

I suggest checking their class schedule online before you go cause some classes fill up fast. I had to wait for a while to get into a fun beginner salsa class!
