i suggest arriving around 8:30 am. you can beat the crowds and have more time to warm up and get familiar with the gear before hitting the trails.

I think you should ask your instructor about local climbing spots for afterwards. I stumbled into some awesome trails that I never would have found on my own!

My advice is to wear comfortable climbing shoes. Don't underestimate the importance of good fit, it made a huge difference for me during the climbs.
