Nature Places Map
Nature in Oregon:
Harris Beach State Park
My advice is to wear sturdy shoes if you plan to explore the trails. It's easy to trip over some roots or rocks. I learned this the hard way!
Multnomah Falls
Willamette National Forest
If you're on a budget, consider packing a picnic. We saved a ton by not eating at the local diners, and there's nothing like a meal with a view!
Oregon Zoo
Make sure to wear comfy shoes! You’ll be doing a lot of walking, and I regretted my choice of sandals halfway through the day.
Tolovana Beach State Recreation Site
my advice is to bring your own food and drinks. the restaurants nearby can be pricey and you'll save a ton by packing a picnic instead.
Sunset Bay State Park
If you’re looking for a quieter experience, try visiting on a weekday, especially in late afternoon. We went on a Wednesday around 3 PM and it felt like we had the beach to ourselves!
Roads End State Recreation State
Pack a picnic lunch! There's nothing like enjoying your meal right on the beach, and it saves you some money compared to dining out nearby. I found some great spots to sit quietly and eat.
Bring some extra layers! The weather can change quickly and it got a bit chilly in the late afternoon. I ended up borrowing a sweatshirt from a friend which wasn't ideal.
I highly recommend checking the tide schedule before you go. At low tide, you can explore the tide pools and see some cool sea life up close. I missed it on my first visit!
If you're into photography, I suggest visiting around sunset. The colors are stunning, and you'll avoid the midday crowds. I got some of my best shots during that time!
Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor
I suggest hitting the beach at Thomas Creek for a quiet spot—it isn’t as crowded as others! Just be ready to walk a bit, but the view is totally worth it.
Bullards Beach State Park
Wahkeena Falls
Check out the restroom situation before you start your hike. There are limited restrooms near the falls, so hit them up at the start
