Historic Charleston City Market
Try to grab lunch at one of the food vendors inside. I had a delicious shrimp po' boy that didn't break the bank, plus it was super fresh!
I recommend visiting on a weekday if you can. It was way less crowded than the weekend when I went. Easier to browse and take photos!
If you're looking to save some cash, consider hitting the market on a rainy day. It seemed like some of the vendors had special deals to lure in visitors during the drizzle.
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum
Check the weather before you go! It got super hot in the afternoon when I was there so I wish I had brought a water bottle and sunscreen with me.
Fort Sumter
Check the weather forecast before you go... It can get really hot out there, so pack sunscreen and a hat if it looks sunny
The Battery
Rainbow Row
If you're looking to save some cash, bring your own snacks and drinks. There aren't a ton of options nearby, and it can get pricey.
I recommend visiting Rainbow Row in the early morning, like around 8 AM, so it's less crowded and perfect for photos without too many people in the background.
Middleton Place
If you can visit on a weekday. It was a lot quieter and we had more opportunities to ask questions and really enjoy the exhibits without the crowds.
I recommend taking the 10 AM guided tour. It was the perfect time to catch the cooler morning air and enjoy the gardens before it got too hot.
Bring a picnic! The grounds are beautiful, and we found a lovely shady spot by the creek. It saved us money and was a great way to recharge.
Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge
I suggest visiting in the early morning, around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and catch a stunning sunrise. It's totally worth the early wake-up call!
I think it’s cool to walk or bike across the bridge. If you can, rent a bike nearby; it saves a lot of legwork and makes the experience even more fun!
Fort Moltree
I highly recommend visiting Fort Moltree on a weekday morning around 10 AM. It was much less crowded then, and I could really soak in the history without rushing
Marion Square
I suggest packing a small picnic to enjoy at one of the benches. We saved a ton of cash and had a perfect little lunch break while enjoying the view!
If you’re into photography, early mornings around 7-8 AM are golden hours here; fewer crowds and beautiful light! Trust me, it makes a huge difference for those Insta shots.
Poinsett Bridge
I suggest packing a picnic. There are beautiful spots nearby to chill and enjoy the scenery, plus it saves you some cash compared to nearby eateries.
I recommend visiting in the early morning or just after sunrise. The light on the bridge is magical, and you'll avoid the crowds that pour in later
