Grand Ole Opry
If you can, avoid the peak season like summer. I visited in August, and it was packed! I think you get a better experience in the off-season when it’s less crowded.
I suggest buying your tickets online in advance. I waited too long and ended up missing out on a good seat! They often have promo codes too, so keep an eye out.
Bring a light jacket! The venue can get a bit chilly, and I regretted wearing just a t-shirt. Better to be safe than sorry, right?
I recommend doing the backstage tour. It’s a little extra cost but totally worth it for the inside scoop and behind-the-scenes access. Just book it ahead of time!
The Schermerhorn Symphony Center
Make sure to check for discounts on tickets at least a week ahead of time. I saved a good chunk by snagging a promo code online. Definitely worth planning ahead.
If you can, get a seat in the middle or front orchestra section. The acoustics are incredible there! I sat in the side once, and honestly, it wasn't the best experience.
Grab a drink at their bar before the show. The prices are fair for a venue, and you can take your drink to your seat! Just watch out for the pre-show crowd; it gets a bit busy
City Winery
I suggest checking their event calendar before you go, as some nights have special shows or wine tastings that can really enhance your experience. I missed out on a cool event!
I recommend trying the charcuterie board; it’s a perfect match for the wine selections! However, don’t be shy to ask for more bread if you run out – they’re usually happy to provide it
I think the service can be a bit slow during busy nights, so have your drink order ready when the server arrives to save time. Trust me, it can make a big difference!
My advice is to arrive by 5 PM to snag a good table with a view of the stage. The prime spots fill up fast and you don’t wanna miss the music!
Bluebird Cafe
Try to sit closer to the stage if you can. The magic of the live performance is way better up front, even if it's crowded!
Make sure to bring cash for tips. I kinda forgot and it was a bit awkward trying to figure out how to tip the amazing musicians.
