Luray Caverns

Make sure to wear comfy shoes! The walking paths are pretty easy, but you’ll still be on your feet a lot, and no one wants sore feet after exploring.

Don't skip the gift shop on your way out. They got some unique souvenirs you won’t find anywhere else, and it’s nice to grab a little something to remember the trip.

I suggest buying tickets online in advance. It saved me some time in line, and I got a small discount. Every dollar counts, right?

Consider bringing a water bottle. I thought there would be more spots to drink water, but they’re a bit limited. Staying hydrated makes everything more enjoyable!
Blue Ridge Mountains

don’t overspend on fancy dining; pack a picnic! i found some beautiful picnic spots along the parkway—eating outside with that view was epic. plus, you can save your cash for fun souvenirs.

I suggest exploring some off-the-beaten-path trails like Craggy Gardens. They’re often less crowded and just as stunning as the popular spots. I found some lovely wildflowers there too!
Waller Mill Park

If you're visiting try to get there around 8 AM before the crowds hit. The park is super quiet in the morning and you can enjoy the trails all to yourself—perfect for snapping pics.

I suggest bringing your own snacks and drinks. The prices at the snack stand can be a bit steep, and there's nothing wrong with enjoying a picnic by the water!
Williamsburg Botanical Garden

My advice is to bring your own water and snacks. The little cafe there is cute but can be pricey, and you'll want to take your time enjoying the gardens without worrying about food costs.
