Don't skip the little details – spend time admiring the beautiful frescoes and columns. I rushed through at first but ended up going back to appreciate them. You'll miss so much if you hurry!

If you're on a budget, consider visiting on the first Sunday of the month when lots of cultural spots in Milan are free – included the Basilica. It’s a great way to save some cash.

Definitely check the opening hours before you go; they can be a bit confusing, and I almost missed my chance to go in! Try to visit around 10 AM when it opens to avoid crowds and really soak in the atmosphere.
