I think you should wear water shoes – the black sand can get pretty hot! I regret not wearing some and my feet were burning!

My advice is to arrive around 9 AM. The morning light is perfect for photos and it's way less crowded than later in the day.

I recommend checking out the nearby trails before heading home. We stumbled upon some amazing views that weren't in any guidebook!
