Bring your own snacks and drinks! The beach food can be pricey and not always great. I spent a small fortune on a sandwich that wasn't even filling—so pack a picnic!

Don't miss the beach on weekdays if you can—so much less crowded! I went on a Saturday and it felt like everyone in the Dominican Republic was there.

Bring cash! Many vendors only take cash, and it's more convenient than roaming around for an ATM. I missed out on some cute souvenirs 'cause I didn't have any cash on me.
