If you can, try to hit Chicken Surf Point early in the morning around 6 AM. The waves are way less crowded, and you'll catch the best swells before the surf schools show up. Trust me, it makes a huge difference.

Bring your own snacks and drinks! The prices at nearby cafes can be pretty steep. I saved a ton by packing a little cooler, and it let me focus more on surfing than worrying about costs.
