If you can, try to sit on the left side of the train for the best views as you go up through the mountains. My advice is to switch seats during the ride so you experience both sides!

Pack some snacks and drinks! The onboard options can be pricey, and you don't want to miss out on the beautiful views while waiting for food vendors at the longer stops.

I recommend buying your tickets online in advance to save some money and secure your spot, especially during peak season. We almost missed out because it was packed when we arrived!
