I think if you can, sit on the left side of the train for the best mountain views. I missed some great photo ops sitting on the right!
Bring a light jacket, even in summer. The air conditioning can be pretty chilly once the train gets moving, and you might regret not having it.
I recommend arriving at least 30 minutes prior to your departure time. The smaller train station can get crowded and you don't want to miss your train!
