I suggest checking the weather ahead of your visit. Sandstorms can pop up, so if you notice winds picking up, it might be better to wait it out or reschdule your trip. Not fun getting blasted by sand.

I think you should bring plenty of water, like a gallon each, especially if you're hiking on hot days. Dehydration can hit you faster than you think, and trust me, you don't want to find yourself in that situation!

My advice is to wear sunscreen, even if it's cloudy. The sand reflects a ton of sunlight, and I regretted not lathering up more. I ended up with a nasty sunburn that took days to heal.
