I suggest getting there early—around 8 AM—so you can snag a good spot on the train and enjoy the scenery without the crowds. It really makes a difference!
Don't forget your camera! The views from La Nariz del Diablo are breathtaking, but my phone didn't do them justice. A good camera is worth it for this trip.
If you can, take the train from Alausí; it's a smoother ride and gives you more time to soak in the beautiful landscapes compared to starting at Sibambe.
