I totally recommend wearing waterproof boots; you'll be walking on snowy and wet ground. My shoes got soaked, which was a bit of a pain. You'll thank me later!

I suggest going around 9 AM to avoid the crowds. We went later and it was packed, making the experience a bit rushed. Early bird, right?

My advice is to bring a solid camera or your phone, but don't forget extra battery packs! The views are killer, and you'll want to capture every moment without worrying about dying batteries.
