if you want to avoid the crowd, try visiting on a weekday morning. i went on a saturday and it was packed! plus, the light is much better for photos early on.
Check out the shops inside the Gasometers for unique gifts. I found some really cool local art pieces that were more affordable than I expected!
Don't skip the rooftop views if it's open! It can be a bit of a hassle to find the entrance, but the skyline of Vienna is unbeatable.
