English Bay Beach
Check out the beach volleyball courts! They're free to use, and it’s a fun way to meet locals or just have a laugh with your friends. I wish I had brought a ball!
I think you should grab some takeout from one of the nearby eateries and have a picnic on the beach! There's so many options, and you'll save a ton compared to dining in a restaurant.
Stanley Park
Check out the Vancouver Aquarium – it’s pretty cool! But, my advice is to buy tickets online to skip the line. It can get super busy, especially on weekends!
If you're into art, stop by the Totem Poles – they're a must-see. But, try to go early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Trust me, the early bird gets the best photos!
Sunset Beach Park
I recommend bringing your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. The beach side cafes can get pricey, and the picnicking vibe is super relaxed.
I suggest checking the tide schedule online before heading out. There’s nothing worse than showing up for a beach day just to find it’s too rocky for swimming!
I think renting bikes is a fun way to explore the park and nearby areas. Just check out the bike rental spots; they can be a bit hidden but worth it!
My advice is to visit during sunset around 7-8 PM. The views are stunning, and it’s not as crowded as during mid-day.
Kitzilano Beach Park
Don't forget to bring your own snacks and drinks; the beachside cafes can be pricey, and it’s nice to lounge with some picnic goodies.
Check out the sunset around 8 PM if you're still there; it's absolutely stunning and makes for awesome photos!
Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge
I suggest checking the weather before you go. It can get slippery on the trails if it rains. I had a close call with muddy paths – definitely not fun!
If you're keen on a good view, don’t miss the extra hike to the lower falls. It takes a bit longer, but the breathtaking scenery is totally worth it – trust me!
Van Dusen Botanical Garden
Bledel Conservatory
Vancouver Aquarium
Don’t forget to visit the gift shop on your way out! I found some really unique souvenirs that I didn’t see anywhere else in the city - major bragging rights!
Arrive right at 10 AM when they open! You'll beat the crowds and get to see the sea otters when they're most active. I missed out on that because I got there later.
Lighthouse Park
Remember to download a map or plan your route in advance! Cell service can be spotty in some areas, and I found myself turned around a couple of times.
Bring snacks or a packed lunch. There aren't many places to grab food nearby, and having a picnic by the lighthouse was one of the highlights for me.
Check the weather before you go! The views are stunning but the trails can be slippery when wet. I got caught in a drizzle and wished I'd worn better shoes.
Jericho Beach Park
For the best sunset views, plan to be there around 7:30 PM during the summer months. It's absolutely magical and definitely worth staying a little longer.
