My advice is to try the local food! The beachside shacks offer delicious cheap meals, much better than the pricier restaurants. I loved the fresh fish tacos.

I suggest bringing cash, because some local spots don't accept cards. I got caught without enough and had to search for an ATM, which wasted time.
