Pierre-Mauroy Stadium
Arrive a bit earlier, like around 1-2 hours before a match. This way, you can soak in the atmosphere outside and grab some food from the food trucks around the stadium, which can be way cheaper than inside.
Exploring the stadium's architecture is awesome, but plan your visit when they have guided tours, usually before big matches. I went during an off-peak time, and I missed out on some cool insights!
The Old Stock Exchange
I suggest checking out the surrounding area for local markets on Thursdays. The vibe is fantastic, and you get to experience the local culture more deeply.
take a stroll in the courtyard area; it’s a great spot for unique photos. plus, i found a lovely café nearby where i enjoyed a coffee afterward.
Palace of Fine Arts
I think bringing a small snack is a great idea. There aren’t many food options inside, and taking a break with a bite while enjoying the view is nice!
Grand Place
LaM
Don't forget to download the museum app before you go. It has great info and audio guides for free. I missed out on it and wished I had it during my visit!
I think weekdays are best for visiting. I went on a Tuesday and the crowd was much thinner. It really let me soak in the art without feeling rushed!
Charles de Gaulle Birthplace
Lille Citadelle
If you can, visit on a weekday morning (around 10 AM) to avoid crowds and enjoy a peaceful stroll around the Citadelle. I found the early hours really nice for taking photos without too many people around.
Town Hall and Belfry
I found that going right when it opens at 9 AM made a huge difference... It was less crowded, and we could take our time exploring the stunning architecture without feeling rushed... Totally worth it!
