India Gate

Don’t forget to check out the surrounding gardens; they’re a great spot to relax after checking out India Gate. I found a nice shaded area to cool down!

Parking can be a hassle, so I recommend using public transport or ride-shares. This way, you avoid the stress of finding a spot and can focus on having fun!

Street food around India Gate is amazing but can be hit-or-miss. Try the chaat stands, but maybe avoid the crowded mouth-watering carts unless you're brave.

bring cash! some of the local vendors only accept cash for snacks and drinks. you don’t want to miss out on those tasty treats because of card issues.
Red Fort

Look out for the sound and light show in the evening. I missed it because I didn’t plan my time well, but everyone raved about it!

Grab a guidebook or download an app with history info. I didn’t and kind of missed out on some cool stories about the architecture.

Go early, like around 9 AM, to beat the crowds and get those Insta-worthy shots without too many people in them. Trust me, it’s a game-changer!
I suggest wearing comfy shoes. The fort is huge, and you're going to do a lot of walking on uneven paths.
Lotus Temple

Check out the visitor's center first for free pamphlets and guides. I found some cool insights about the temple's design that made my visit even more interesting

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You’ll be walking on marble and grass, and you want to be comfy while exploring the gardens!

Grab a local snack from one of the nearby vendors after your visit... I found some neat treats that were delicious and really affordable!

Bring a water bottle. There’s not much around, and the temple grounds require some walking. Stay hydrated while you soak in the beauty.
Humayun Mausoleum

Pack some snacks and water. The cafes inside are decent but a bit on the pricey side. A little picnic by the gardens feels so nice!

Get there right when they open at 6 AM to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and get some stunning photos without the crowds. Later in the day it gets really busy!

Bring a good pair of walking shoes. The grounds are extensive, and you'll want to explore every little nook and cranny of this beautiful site.

Check the weather before heading out. Visiting during the cooler months (October to March) makes a world of difference. I went in the summer and it was sweltering!
Akshardham
Delhi Cathedral Mosque

Make sure to bring a water bottle. It can get super hot in Delhi, and there aren’t a lot of vendors nearby. Staying hydrated made my visit so much more enjoyable!

I suggest trying to visit during the week rather than on weekends. It felt much more serene and you can really take in the architecture without the huge tourist crowds.

Don't forget to dress modestly! I wore a long skirt, which worked out, but a friend got turned away at the door for wearing shorts. Just a heads up!
If you're planning on taking photos, be respectful and check for any signs about restrictions. I didn’t catch one and ended up feeling a bit awkward after getting a warning.
