Yad Vashem

I suggest eating at the on-site café before diving into the exhibits. The food is good and it gives you a chance to gather your thoughts before seeing all that intense history.

If you can, try to get there around 9:30 AM. The crowds are way lighter then and you can really take your time exploring without feeling rushed.
I recommend downloading the Yad Vashem app before your visit – it has awesome audio guides that can really enhance your experience without the need for a physical guide, plus it's free
Church of the Holy Sepulcher
Israeli Museum

If you're on a budget, consider packing a lunch. The museum's café is nice but pricey. There's a lovely outdoor area where you can eat your own food

I suggest getting there right when they open at 10 AM to beat the crowds. The early morning vibe is peaceful, and you’ll have more space to explore.

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. There’s a lot of walking involved, and you’ll want to explore every nook and cranny without your feet hurting.
Jami al-Aqsa
I suggest visiting early, around 7 AM, to beat the crowds and catch the beautiful morning light for photos. It was way less hectic at that time!

My advice is to wear comfortable shoes. You'll be doing a lot of walking on uneven surfaces, and trust me, it's no fun if your feet hurt!

If you can, bring straws for the Jerusalem sun. It can get unbearably hot, and the shade can be hard to find. I leve it behind last time - big mistake!
The First Station
Wall of Tears

I think it's better to dress modestly and comfortably since you’ll be doing a bit of walking, and it shows respect to the place.

if you're tight on time, skip the lengthy explanations from guides and just wander around. you'll find that exploring on your own gives a more personal experience.

My advice is to bring a small piece of paper to stick between the stones with your wishes or prayers. It's a nice personal touch and adds to the experience.

I suggest checking out nearby attractions afterward, like the Western Wall tunnels or the markets. It makes for a packed but fulfilling day!
Tower of David

If you can, catch the sunset from the towers. The view of the Old City is stunning, especially with the lights coming up. Just don’t miss it like I did!

I suggest buying the joint ticket with the City of David. It’s a lot cheaper than buying separately plus you get to see more cool stuff. Trust me it’s worth it
Montefiore Windmill

I recommend bringing some snacks or water. There aren’t many cafes close by, and you might want to take a break on the nearby benches.

I think combining your visit with a stroll around the Yemin Moshe neighborhood is a great idea. The architecture there is fantastic, and it’s just a short walk from the windmill.

My advice is to check the opening hours before you go; I didn’t and arrived just as they were closing on a Saturday, which was a bummer.

I suggest visiting in the early afternoon when the light is perfect for photos. Plus, it's less crowded then, so you can really enjoy the views without feeling rushed.
Dome of the Rock

I suggest getting there at 7 AM when it opens. The morning light makes the gold dome look even more stunning and the crowd is way smaller! Perfect for photos!

If you're planning to take photos, remember to be respectful. I found out the hard way that some places have strict no-photo rules, and you don’t want to get in trouble.

I recommend checking if you need dress codes to enter. The last thing you want is to be turned away for not being properly dressed. A light scarf for women helps a lot.
