If you can, buy your ticket online ahead of time. It saves you from standing in line, and sometimes there's discounts too!

Things can get a bit slippery inside due to the marble floors. Wear comfortable shoes with a good grip to avoid any slip-ups while wandering around.

I suggest exploring the surrounding area after your visit; there are cute little cafes nearby where you can grab a coffee and soak in the vibes of Parma.

Don't miss the frescoes on the dome; they are breathtaking! Bring a small pair of binoculars if you have them for a closer look since it can be a bit hard to see all the details from below.
Cittadella di Parma

Watch out for the little cafes around the area; some offer great discounts during Happy Hour. We found a cute spot with 2-for-1 drinks that made our day even better.

I suggest wearing comfortable shoes because you'll be strolling around a lot. The cobblestones can be tough on your feet, especially if you're planning to explore every corner. Trust me, you don't want blisters ruining your day.

My advice is to pack a picnic and enjoy it in the grassy areas. There are some lovely spots where you can chill and watch the world go by without spending a euro on food.

Palazzo della Pilotta
Shrine of Santa Maria della Steccata
Parma Baptistery

I suggest booking your ticket online to skip the line. I didn’t, and waiting took forever! Plus, you can save a bit if you grab a combo ticket with nearby attractions.

I recommend visiting around 9 AM when it opens. It’s way less crowded then, and you can really soak in the stunning architecture without bumping into a million people.

i think it's worth getting the combined ticket for the baptistery and cathedral. it saves some cash and you get to see both incredible sites without having to pay separately.

My advice is to visit around 4 PM. The late afternoon light is perfect for photos and it’s way less crowded than in the morning. I wished I had done this!
San Giovanni Evangelista
Governor's Palace

I suggest getting there around 9 AM before the crowds hit. You'll have more time to appreciate the stunning details without jostling for a view. Plus, it's cooler in the morning!

I recommend checking out the little cafe nearby for a quick espresso after touring. It's a great spot to relax and prices are way better than the ones inside the palace!
Arch of San Lazzaro
I suggest grabbing a quick cappuccino from a nearby café before going. It saves you time and makes your visit feel authentic. I wish I'd done that instead of searching for a place after

I recommend visiting the Arch of San Lazzaro in the early morning, around 8-9 AM, when it’s less crowded and the light is perfect for photos! Trust me, the peace and quiet add to the vibe.
