Sanxia Old Street
Jinbaoli Old Street
I suggest visiting Jinbaoli Old Street on weekdays if you can. The weekends get super crowded and you might have a hard time enjoying the atmosphere and taking pics without tons of people around.

Go for lunch around 11:30 AM. That way, you can beat the lunch rush and get a seat in the popular restaurants without waiting forever.

I think you might want to keep an eye on the weather. It can get really humid and hot, so a hat and sunscreen are a must. Bring a water bottle too; it saves a lot on drinks!

Check out the back alleys. I skipped a few because I thought they’d be boring, but they have some great art and unique shops that aren’t in the main street.
Bali Old Street

Before you leave, grab some souvenirs! There are great artisanal goods but be prepared to bargain a bit. I didn’t and ended up paying too much for my first few items.

make sure to try the local street food like the grilled corn and stinky tofu. but be warned, the latter is definitely an acquired taste! i didn’t expect it to be that pungent.

Try to visit around 4 PM to catch the sunset lights hitting the architecture. It makes for some stunning photos! I wish I'd done that instead of waiting for evening when it got really crowded
Bring some cash, as many food stalls and small shops don’t accept cards... I ended up having to search for an ATM when all I wanted was a quick bite!
Lin Ben Yuan Family Mansion and Garden

Don’t skip the guided tour; while I thought I could just walk through, the history and stories they share really add to the experience.

Next time, I’d definitely bring a picnic. The garden is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy some snacks without having to leave.

Make sure to bring some cash! There are little shops nearby where you can grab snacks, but not all of them accept cards.

I suggest checking the weather in advance; I went during a rain shower and it made walking around the gardens tough!
Zhulin Mountain Buddhist Temple

My advice is to bring your own water and snacks. The temple has limited food options, and it can get hot, especially if you're hiking around

I suggest visiting on a weekday if you can. I went on a Saturday and it was quite crowded, making it hard to enjoy the tranquility of the place.

I recommend checking the weather before you go. The views are stunning when it's clear, but I went on a foggy day and missed seeing the valley!

i think exploring the back trails adds a lovely dimension to the visit. they’re quiet and give you an intimate feel of the temple and nature.
Fort Santo Domingo
Cihui Mazu Temple

My advice is to bring a small offering if you’re into that kind of stuff. It’s a nice gesture, and the locals appreciate it! I brought some fruit and it felt good to give back.

Don’t forget to check the weather before you go. It rained on my visit, so I couldn’t fully enjoy the lovely outdoor spaces. Bring an umbrella just in case to avoid getting soaked.

If you want to save money skip the pricey souvenirs at the temple itself. Instead head to the nearby markets. You can find cooler stuff for way cheaper; I got some beautiful handmade items!

I recommend exploring the surrounding area a bit. There's a lovely park close by that’s perfect for a little break. Grab a snack from the small vendors there, I've tried some awesome street food!
Lover's Bridge
Sanxia Temple
Hsinchuang Dizang Temple

Don't forget to wear comfy shoes! The temple grounds are a bit larger than they seem, and you'll want to explore all the nooks and crannies without sore feet. Trust me on this one!
