If you're into hands-on exhibits, hit those first! They can get crowded later in the day. Aim to start with them right when the museum opens.

It can get busy on weekends, so try to visit on a weekday if you can. Your experience will be way more enjoyable without dodging crowds, especially in the popular areas.
Boston Museum of Fine Arts

Plan on about 3-4 hours to really soak everything in. I spent too little time the first round and missed some amazing pieces!

Download the museum app before your visit. The audio tours are super helpful, and I wish I had it handy to get a bit more context on the pieces I loved.

Don't miss the special exhibitions! I was so focused on the main galleries that I almost overlooked them, and I regret it. They're often the best part.

They have a cool 'Artful Adventures' program for families. If you're bringing kids, I highly recommend checking this out for an interactive experience.
Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum

I recommend grabbing the audio guide; it really brings the exhibits to life. I learned so much more than I would have just walking around looking at things
Boston Children's Museum
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. There’s a lot to explore, and you'll be on your feet most of the day. I didn’t and my feet were sore by the end!

I think parking can be a hassle, so I suggest taking the subway if you can. The museum is a short walk from the Boylston station and you won't have to deal with parking fees or traffic.

If your kids are into water play, go straight to the ‘Construction Zone’ right when you get in. I made the mistake of saving it for later, and it was packed. We spent a good hour there!
Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum

Plan to spend around 2-3 hours here; there's more to see than you might think. I almost rushed through it but realized I didn’t want to miss anything!

I recommend getting there early, around 9 AM, to beat the crowds and have a more personal experience. The first tours fill up quick!
USS Constitution Museum

Plan to spend a little time in the gift shop after your visit – they have some unique maritime souvenirs that are worth the stop!

Grab a free audio guide at the entrance; it adds a ton of context and really enhances the experience!

Make sure to check the schedule for live cannon firings – it's super cool and a must-see! I nearly missed it!
The Paul Revere House
MIT Museum

Plan your visit around noon on weekdays; it was way less crowded then. My friends and I actually got to chat with the staff, which was a cool plus!
Don't miss the holography exhibit! I think it's super unique compared to other museums I've been to. Trust me, you won't want to rush through it!

I suggest grabbing the MIT Museum's audio guide; it really adds depth to the exhibits. Plus, it's included in the admission price, so you're getting a great deal.
