The Moda Center

Arrive at least an hour before the game starts to avoid the parking rush and get settled in your seat. It’s worth it to catch the pre-game hype!

I suggest bringing a light jacket or sweater. The venue can get a bit chilly during the games, and you'll want to be comfortable to enjoy the action.

Take advantage of the merchandise stands before the game instead of during halftime. I got my favorite team's gear without the crazy lines later on!

Check the Moda Center’s website for promotions on food and drinks ahead of time. I saved quite a bit by taking advantage of a 'hot dog special' last time I went!
Sam's Hollywood Billiards

I suggest ordering the happy hour deals! They have some nice drinks and snacks that won't break the bank, especially from 5 PM to 7 PM.

I recommend hitting up Sam's Hollywood Billiards after 8 PM for the best vibe and fewer crowds. Trust me, it gets really busy on weekends!
My advice is to brush up on your pool skills before going. The tables are great and it can be a friendly competition but expect some talented players.
The Moon and Sixpence

I suggest hitting The Moon and Sixpence on a weekday evening when it's less crowded. I went on a Friday, and it was super packed - we had to wait ages for a dart board!
Burnside Skatepark

I suggest checking out the park on a weekday, like Tuesday around 4 PM. It was way less crowded, and I had way more space to practice my tricks.

You might want to grab some snacks before coming. There's not a whole lot around, and a lot of visitors said they ended up super hungry after skating for hours.

My advice is to chat with the locals. They’re super friendly and shared some awesome tips on the best spots in the park, plus some secret tricks to master.
McMenamins Tavern & Pool

My advice is to check out their happy hour specials; we saved a bit and still enjoyed great drinks without breaking the bank.

I recommend trying out the local brews on tap. Some are exclusive and totally worth it. Don’t miss out, they're delish!
i suggest arriving before 6 pm to snag a good pool table. it gets packed later, and we waited for a while for a spot!
Horse Brass Pub
Make sure to order the fish and chips; they're surprisingly good for a pub! I think it's worth getting a side of their tartar sauce too.

I recommend checking out the happy hour specials; they have some killer deals from 3 to 6 PM. It's a great way to try their local brews without breaking the bank

If you're into darts, get there by 5 PM to secure a dartboard. It can get pretty busy later, especially on weekends!
Oaks Amusement Park
I think eating before you arrive helps. The food options are a bit pricey, so grabbing a quick bite somewhere nearby could save you cash for more fun later.

My advice is to buy the ride wristbands instead of individual tickets. They’ll save you money if you plan to go on more than a couple rides.

I recommend getting there right when they open at 11 AM! The lines for the rides were way shorter, and we got to hit all the main attractions without the wait.

I suggest checking out the park's event schedule online before you go. They sometimes have special promotions that can save you money or get you some cool extras!
Portland International Raceway

I recommend scouting the venue for some off-the-beaten-path spots to watch the race. The main stands are great, but you get a better vibe from the sidelines!
I think you should bring some snacks and drinks... Food inside can get pricey, and there aren’t many options nearby

I suggest you arrive at least an hour early, especially if there’s a big event. Parking fills up quickly, and you don’t wanna miss the action! I learned that the hard way

My advice is to check the schedule online before you go. Some races are way more exciting than others, and I wish I’d planned better for my day.
Payson Park

I recommend checking the weather before you go. I went on a sunny Saturday and it was perfect for sledding, but I heard the next day it rained and it got muddy and slushy. No fun
Children of the Sea

My advice is to bring your own snacks and drinks. The cafes there can be pretty pricey and having your own stuff really helped save some cash for the cool souvenirs instead.

I recommend visiting around 11 AM when the sun is up but the crowds are still manageable. It felt way more relaxed at that time and we snagged some great spots to lounge
