Space Center Houston
If you're driving, look for parking across from the center. It's a tad cheaper than the main lot, plus it's an easy walk over!
My advice is to download their app before your visit. It has a ton of useful info, including real-time schedules for talks that you don’t wanna miss!
If you're planning to see the 3D movie, make sure to catch it first thing around 10 AM. The lines for that can get crazy later in the day!
Houston Museum of Natural Science
Make sure to grab a map when you enter... I found the layout a bit confusing and the map helped me plan my route better
Don't skip the planetarium show! It's totally worth the extra ticket price for the experience. Just book your spot in advance.
The Museum of Fine Arts
Use the app to navigate the museum! It helped me plan my route efficiently and discover hidden gems I would’ve missed otherwise.
I found the cafe prices to be a bit steep. Consider packing a light snack to enjoy in the lovely gardens instead.
Check the museum’s website for any special events or free admission days. I found out they had a free Thursday evening, which was a fantastic bonus!
If you're into photography, snag a shot in the gorgeous reflecting pool. I wish I had captured more of the beautiful scenery while I was there!
Children’s Museum of Houston
Lakewood Church
My advice is to grab a bite before you go. The café inside is a bit pricey and crowded. I found a nearby place with amazing sandwiches that don’t break the bank!
I recommend coming on a Sunday for the service; the energy is just amazing. But get there around 8 AM to snag good parking before it fills up. Trust me, waiting for a spot can be a pain
Monument of San Jacinto
Houston Graffiti Building
Check the local street art scene ahead of time if you're into murals. I found some amazing spots nearby that were just a short walk from the Graffiti Building
Bring a spray bottle and some water if you're planning to take photos during the hot months; it can get really sunny and you might need to cool down while enjoying the art.
Lone Star Flight Museum
Check out the schedule for flight demonstrations before you go; I missed one because I didn't plan ahead, and it looked incredible!
I suggest buying your tickets online to skip the ticket line and save some time once you get there. Trust me, it makes a big difference
National Museum of Funeral History
I recommend getting there right when it opens at 10 AM. It was pretty quiet then, so I could take my time exploring without the crowds being overwhelming
I suggest checking their website for any special exhibits before you go, as they sometimes have unique displays that could save you time wandering around looking for cool stuff.
The Orange Show
I recommend bringing some snacks and water as there aren't many food options nearby. Trust me you'll want a little energy to explore all the cool corners of The Orange Show!
