I think you should explore the walking trails, but download a map first. I got a bit lost and missed some beautiful spots.

My advice is to check the weather before you go. I went on a cloudy day, and it wasn't super enjoyable. A sunny day really makes the beach pop!

I suggest bringing your own beach umbrella. Renting one can be pricey, and I regretted not having more shade when the sun was blazing.

I recommend visiting Four Mile Beach early in the morning around 7 AM... The sunrise is stunning and it’s much less crowded, giving you a peaceful vibe

If you're into beach activities, look for rental gear at nearby shops. I found it way cheaper than expected, and it’s more convenient than bringing everything with you.

I recommend visiting The Strand during sunset. The views are absolutely breathtaking, and it's less crowded than during the day, so you can really soak it all in

Check out the local food trucks for a budget-friendly meal. They usually have amazing options, and it's way cheaper than the sit-down restaurants.

Margaret November 2, 2024

My advice is to rent a bike to cruise along the promenade. It’s a fun way to explore, and it saves time compared to just walking around. Plus, you can cover more ground!

If you're planning to swim, make sure to bring reef shoes... The sand can get a bit hot, and there are some rocky areas that can be a bit uncomfortable without them

I recommend arriving at Burleigh Heads by about 8 AM if you want to snag a good parking spot. It gets pretty crowded, and trust me, parking can be a real pain later in the day!

Mary January 11, 2025

Don’t miss the Burleigh Heads National Park. The trails are amazing, but wear good shoes. I thought I could make it in flip-flops, and I regretted that decision halfway through!

Don’t forget to wear plenty of sunscreen, even on cloudy days. I learned that the hard way after getting sunburned during my visit!

James November 18, 2024

Bring your own snacks and drinks to save some cash. Food at the beach can be pricey, and you’ll want to enjoy lunch without breaking the bank.

I recommend checking out the sunset at Mindil Beach. The view is absolutely stunning around 5:30 PM, and it's a great way to wind down after a long day.

Pro tip: don't miss the food markets on Thursdays and Sundays! I was surprised by the variety and found some delicious cheap eats

user avatar
Joshua December 7, 2024

If you’re planning to explore the casino, set a budget beforehand. The slots can be super tempting, and it's easy to lose track of time... and money!

user avatar
Steven October 22, 2024

I think it's best to time your visit after the dry season, like late October. The weather was much more bearable then, and the beaches were less crowded.

I suggest taking the scenic ferry, but book your ticket in advance. The views are worth every penny, and you also save time compared to driving.

user avatar
Margaret December 9, 2024

Try to arrive before 10 AM for a quieter beach experience and snag a good spot. The later it gets, the busier it becomes!

user avatar
Brian October 27, 2024

I found that the best fish and chips are at a little place called 'The Boathouse'—grab a picnic, and enjoy it on the beach!
