Great Barrier Reef
Don't just stick to the popular spots! I thought exploring the lesser-known parts of the reef was way more peaceful and there were fewer crowds.
I think doing the sunset cruise was a highlight for me! The views are breathtaking and it’s a great way to wind down after a busy day. Don’t miss it!
Australia Zoo
Check the schedule for animal encounters and shows as soon as you arrive. They fill up fast, and you don’t want to miss the cute kangaroo feeding!
My advice is to wear comfy shoes. The zoo is big, and you’ll be doing a lot of walking. I made the mistake of wearing flip-flops and my feet hurt by noon!
Werribee Open Range Zoo
Don't skip the giraffe feeding experience! It costs a bit extra, but it was totally worth it. I caught some amazing pictures and had a blast!
I suggest timing your visit around 10 AM. It gives you a great chance to see the animals at their most active right after opening, plus it's less crowded!
Definitely consider bringing your own food and drinks. The prices in the zoo cafe can be kind of high. I had a decent sandwich, but it was nothing special and took a chunk out of my budget!
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
My advice is to wear comfortable shoes! You'll be walking a lot, and some areas are a bit hilly. Trust me, your feet will thank you later!
If you want to get that perfect selfie with a koala, timing is key! Try to visit during feeding times for the best interaction.
I recommend visiting on a weekday, especially around 10 AM, when the crowds are smaller, and the animals are more active. It makes for a relaxing experience!
Bring your own snacks or lunch! The food at the café can be pricey, and the picnic areas are perfect for enjoying a break with a view.
